The industry had been preparing for this moment for eight years! So look out for this badge: SIA Ecodesign Ready stoves meet the Ecodesign requirements and are seen on all our stoves in the showroom.
IMPORTANT: Ecodesign stoves still also have to be approved by DEFRA to be installed in smoke control zones like Luton
Does my stove have to be Ecodesign Compliant now?
It is important to say, that stoves made before 2022 do not have to be Ecodesign ready. All stoves installed to current building regulations will have what is known as grandfather rights, meaning that owners will not be asked to remove stoves that do not meet the new regulations that have come into force since 2022.
Having said that, catalytic converters are available to be retro-fitted in your stove's flue, so, if you would like to upgrade your old stove, to meet the new standards, you can. Please ask the showroom for details.
